Agreed, this is not the most jammed out show by any stretch, but listen to the swell of the crowd during "Candyman"!!If you cannot feel the emotion that the 15,000 plus in the crowd during this, well then, you may not have a pulse......or a heart for that matter.

This is a good show, and the time they did a little rehearsing payed off.I seem to notice that there is new feel to the playing amongst the band.Listen to the D.C. show (7-7-86),then listen to this one, more fire and spunk in the playing, and what seems to be much more joy.I remember listening to the summer '86 tour tapes at the time, then seeing them on "Farm Aid" confirmed what I had thought in the back of my mind was.No matter how much positive spin they put on after the '84 bust,Jerry was in really bad shape.I thought then,Jerry seemed to have already lived 75 years worth of life but was only 43,how much longer will he be around? We were all able to have another 9 years, but what I wouldn't trade to still have him around to sing another "Candyman" as this one.

Thank you Jerry, for a real good time!!!

Subject: Garcia
This is far from a mind blowing show or recording but if you wanna know what it sounded and felt like upon Garcia's return to the band; cue up Candyman. Play it LOUD! and make sure it's an aud.
